I am writing to recommend Tom Blazek as a Sage and MiSys consultant for your organization. I have personally worked closely with Tom for the last three years. Together, we completed a transition to Sage 300 and MiSys—including multiple Misys customizations. These systems have since become a foundation for our business.

 

As President of a microwave electronics company, I needed someone familiar with both software and manufacturing. Tom’s real-world experiences in these areas were essential; not only properly set up the software, but also to integrate these systems into our existing process. His knowledge of accounting was also a boon. 

 

Tom was ready and able to layout a plan that customized Misys to the way my company was used to moving material around the factory. This allowed us to avoid any undesired changes to our manufacturing process or floor. Tom has access to programmers that can create customized screens and workflow tools to make any business more efficient.

Process Metrix retained Tom Blazek to help us implement our recently purchased MiSYS inventory management system.  We had a very small time window in which to learn the software, load our inventory, verify our inventory numbers and then go live.  Tom was very open and honest with us:  Our schedule was ambitious, there was a high likelihood that it would take longer than we’d hoped, and we might even miss our goal entirely.  Yet, Tom was willing to engage.  He cleared his schedule and we started in earnest.

The training that Tom provided on the MISYS package was well organized and focused just on those software elements we needed to launch.  Tom helped us craft an inventory management approach that matched the needs of our business.  In fact, this is one of Tom’s strengths:  He strives to understand the business and its inventory/accounting management requirements and then tailors his approach to meet those needs.  Tom is smart, articulate, well versed in inventory and accounting and communicates well.  He treats his customers with respect.  Questions are always address reasonably and promptly.  He never tires of teaching the concepts of proper inventory management!  His business acumen also spills into suggesting good business operational practice, which we appreciate.

Through Tom’s tutelage, we successfully launched MiSYS within our available time window.  Since installation, we’ve had some struggles and made some mistakes.  Tom has helped us unwind those mistakes and learn how to avoid them moving forward.  We’re now using the software for inventory management, purchasing advice, PO placement, receiving, and transfer of finished goods to accounting for invoicing. Tom also helped us create the link between our MISYS implementation and our Sage 50 accounting software.  Again, this was a critical piece that we absolutely had to address for successful installation of MISYS.  Anyone that claims MISYS can be installed and launched without an expert consultant such as Tom is mistaken – the complexity of the software makes retention of a capable consultant an absolute requirement.  Tom fulfilled that requirement perfectly, and I have no hesitation recommending him to anyone that might be considering a MISYS implementation for inventory management.

We did to Sage 300 with Tom, which in itself was a sell to us moving from a Sage Product we were unhappy with another Sage product. Having delt with corruption and network slowness and connectivity issues with Sage 50, Tom was certain that Sage 300 was a much more stable platform and those types of issues just “don’t; normally happen” in Sage 300. Having been on the new system now for about 1 year, that has proven itself to be true, along with having much more robust system which is easier to addon to and customize certain things as well as mine data from different types of reports thanks to Tom. 

Tom has bee very accessible throughout the upgrade and still is nearly a year later with minor question or reporting needs. While he cant always “drop everything” when he’s with another customer, he always try’s to make time to help with any situation or work with you before or after his time at another customer’s site. He is also very responsive to calls, texts and email.

Our upgrade has made us much more efficient in the office environment. Prior to the upgrade, we were considering adding office personnel. After the upgrade, that certainly isn’t needed and it as made lives much easier to our current people with Tom’s assistance in implementing time saving processes.
